AVALANCHE, SENATORS RALLY FOR WINS

The Colorado Avalanche and Ottawa Senators staged rallies to record comeback wins on Tuesday night:

* Down 3-0 to the Arizona Coyotes beginning the second period, Gabriel Landeskog (2-0—2) started the comeback and Matt Duchene (1-0—1) scored at 4:05 of the third period to force overtime where Daniel Briere scored for a 4-3 victory. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last time the Avalanche overcame a three-goal deficit en route to victory was in a 5-4 win on Feb. 28, 2013 vs. CGY.

* Colorado's previous game also saw the Avalanche rally from a multigoal deficit to win when they edged Carolina 4-3 after trailing 2-0 early in the first period and 3-2 late in the third. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last time the Avalanche overcame multigoal deficits to win in back-to-back games was Feb. 21 and Feb. 23, 1997, when they posted 4-3 victories against the Edmonton Oilers and Senators, respectively.

* Calvin Pickard entered in relief of Reto Berra and made 25 saves to record his second career NHL win. Pickard also relieved Berra Saturday en route to picking up his first career win. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Pickard is the first goaltender in NHL history to record his first two career wins in relief in back-to-back team games.

* Briere's overtime goal was the 12th of his career and his first since Feb. 9, 2013 vs. CAR while with the Philadelphia Flyers.

* Facing a 2-0 deficit against the St. Louis Blues at the beginning of the third period, Ottawa scored two goals, including Alex Chiasson's game-tying goal with 40.4 seconds left in regulation, to send the game into overtime. Bobby Ryan scored in the third round of the shootout to complete the comeback and a 3-2 victory.

* Chiasson is the sixth player this season to score a game-tying goal in the final 60 seconds of regulation.

* Ryan's shootout goal was the sixth game-deciding goal of his career (8-for-30, 26.7 percent overall).

* Erik Condra cued the comeback with his first goal since March 28 vs. CHI.

FLAMES FALL SHORT IN COMEBACK BID

Trailing 3-0 after 40 minutes, TJ Brodie scored a goal and an assist as the Calgary Flames scored twice in the final nine minutes of the third period but ultimately lost 3-2 to the Anaheim Ducks.

* With the victory, the Ducks (14-4-5, 33 points) remain alone atop the Western Conference standings and are tied with Montreal (16-6-1, 33 points) for top spot in the NHL.

* The Ducks now have won 19 consecutive home games against the Flames dating to April 4, 2004, extending the longest home winning streak against an opponent in franchise history.

* Frederik Andersen made 32 saves to improve to 10-2-4 with a 2.10 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage in 17 appearances this season.

* Kyle Palmieri scored his first game-winning goal since Dec. 21, 2013 at NYI; he has registered three goals in five games this season.

* Corey Perry (18 GP) potted his team-leading 12th goal of the season and is now tied with Vladimir Tarasenko (22 GP) for fourth in the League.

* Matt Beleskey (1-1—2) matched a career-high with two points (six times; last: April 9, 2014 vs. SJ) and now ranks second on the club with 10 goals, one shy of his career high set in 2009-10 (60 games).

RINNE BACKSTOPS HIS WAY TO LEAGUE-LEADING 14TH WIN

Pekka Rinne made 18 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped all six shooters in the shootout to give the Nashville Predators a 4-3 victory against the Los Angeles Kings. Rinne has won eight of his past nine games and now shares the League-lead in wins with 14 (tied with Ryan Miller).

* In 18 games this season, Rinne is ranked second in the League with a 1.97 GAA and fourth in the League with a .927 save percentage.

* James Neal scored the shootout winner in the sixth round. Neal has converted 15 times on 40 attempts for a 37.5 percent career success rate, including eight game-deciding goals.

* Nashville improved to 14-5-2 (30 points) overall and sits at the top of the Central Division standings with a game in hand on St. Louis (14-6-2, 30 points).

* Craig Smith (1-1—2) and Colin Wilson (0-2—2) each had two points for the Predators, who improved to 8-1-1 at home this season.

* Matt Cullen (38 years, 23 days) became the oldest player ever to suit up for the Predators, surpassing Hal Gill's previous mark of 38 years, 21 days. Cullen has played 1,162 games in 17 NHL seasons and is the top U.S.-born player in the category.

* Shea Weber (0-1—1) passed Kimmo Timonen for sole possession of first on the Predators all-time assist list among defensemen with 223.

CANUCKS, MILLER BLANK DEVILS

Ryan Miller denied all 20 shots he faced to record his 30th career shutout (second this season) and backstopped the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-0 win against the New Jersey Devils. Vancouver has won each of its past six meetings with New Jersey dating to Dec. 2, 2009.

* With the win, Vancouver (15-6-1, 31 points) moved into sole possession of second place in the Central Division and Western Conference, trailing only Anaheim (14-4-5, 33 points).

* At 14-3-0, Miller shares the League-lead in wins (tied with Pekka Rinne) and now has a 2.47 GAA and .908 save percentage in 17 appearances.

* Alexandre Burrows scored the opening goal for his 25th career game-winning goal and first since April 6, 2013 vs. CGY.

* Before the game, the Canucks held a moment of silence and anthem singer Mark Donnelly sang a special rendition of "Danny Boy" to celebrate the life and legacy of Pat Quinn. In addition, the "Forever a Canuck" in-arena display is now dedicated to Quinn and the Canucks donned special "PQ" decals, which they will wear for the rest of the season.

LEHTONEN, SEGUIN LIFT STARS TO THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

Kari Lehtonen stopped 35 shots and Tyler Seguin's second goal of the game stood as the game-winner as the Dallas Stars extended their winning streak to three games with a 3-2 victory against the Oilers. All three wins have come on home ice, a place where they won just once in their first 10 tries this season (1-5-4).

* Dallas has won 12 of the past 15 meetings against the Oilers at American Airlines Center dating to Dec. 23, 2006 (12-1-2).

* Lehtonen holds a 12-3-1 record in 16 career outings vs. EDM (2.05 GAA, .932 save percentage), matching his second-highest win total against one franchise (tied with TB).

* Seguin registered his fifth multigoal game of the season to bring his League-leading goals total to 17. Overall he is tied with Philadelphia's Jakub Voracek with 10 multipoint games in 2014-15. Seguin has 17-11—28 to sit one point behind Sidney Crosby (9-20—29) and Voracek (7-22—29) for the League lead.

* John Klingberg (1-1—2) scored for the third straight contest to push his point streak to five games (3-5—8). Elias says Klingberg is the first rookie defenseman to post a point in five straight games for the Stars since the franchise relocated to Dallas. Overall he is the third rookie defenseman to accomplish the feat for the Stars/North Stars, following Brad Maxwell (twice: Dec. 4-11, 1977 and Feb. 11-19, 1978) and Shawn Chambers (March 7-16, 1989).

* Klingberg's eight points in eight games mark the best career start for a defenseman in franchise history. The only rookie defenseman with more points than Klingberg this season is Aaron Ekblad (2-9—11 in 19 games).

* Klingberg is the first rookie defenseman to score in three straight games since the San Jose Sharks' Matt Irwin did so from Mar. 14-18, 2013. In addition, he is the first rookie defenseman to record a five-game point streak since Calvin de Haan posted 1-6—7 for the New York Islanders from Jan. 6-14, 2014.

* Jamie Benn notched the primary assist on the winning goal to push his point streak to four games (3-4—7). He has registered 10-8—18 in 17 games vs. EDM.

* Ales Hemsky, who was traded to Ottawa at the 2014 Trade Deadline and signed as a free agent with Dallas in the offseason, played his first career game against the Oilers. The 13th selection by Edmonton in the 2001 NHL Draft, Hemsky had 142-335—477 in 652 regular-season games with the Oilers.

QUICK GOALS LIFT JETS

Tied at 1-1 in the second period, Evander Kane (2-0—2) and Andrew Ladd (1-1—2) scored 31 seconds apart as the Winnipeg Jets skated to a 4-2 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Winnipeg win puts a halt to Columbus' recent success against the Jets, as prior to the game the Blue Jackets had gone 7-1-0 in the last eight since Dec. 26, 2007 and 4-1-0 at Nationwide Arena since Nov. 7, 2003.

* Kane (2-0—2) recorded his first multigoal and second multipoint performance of the season. His first multipoint game was earlier this month on Nov. 6 vs. PIT (1-1—2).

* Bryan Little (1-1—2) opened the scoring just nine seconds after the opening faceoff. Little's goal was one second short of the Winnipeg/Atlanta franchise record of eight seconds for quickest goal to begin a game, set on three occasions (Ronald Petrovicky, Dec. 20, 2003 vs. PIT; Kyle Wellwood, Oct. 17, 2011 vs. PIT; and Andrew Ladd, Feb. 28, 2013 vs. NJ).

* Little's goal is the third occasion this season where a goal has been scored within 10 seconds of the opening faceoff, following Vancouver's Henrik Sedin (0:10, Oct. 24 vs. COL) and New Jersey's Dainius Zubrus (0:09, Oct. 28 vs. PIT).

* Rookie goaltender Michael Hutchinson made 32 saves in the win and improved his record to 4-1-1 over seven appearances this season. Hutchinson has posted a 1.50 GAA and .947 save percentage over this stretch.

* Blake Wheeler (0-2—2) and Jacob Trouba (0-2—2) also posted two-point performances for the Jets, who improved to 11-9-3 (25 points) this season and are now ranked fourth in the Central Division.

LOOSE PUCKS

Rene Bourque collected his first point as a Duck in his second game. . . Anaheim defenseman Mat Clark recorded his first career NHL point. . . Defensemen Jordan Leopold (CBJ) and Jamie McBain (LAK) each scored their first goal as a member of their respective teams. . . St. Louis defenseman Ian Cole scored his first goal this season. It was his first since March 6 vs. NSH. . . St. Louis forward Ryan Reaves recorded his first assist of the season giving him a point in consecutive games for the second time in his career and the first time since Jan. 12-13, 2011. . . Defenseman Barret Jackman appeared in his 745th career game as a member of the Blues, passing Brett Hull for third on the all-time franchise list. . . Drew Doughty (1-4—5) and Justin Williams (2-4—6) extended their point streaks to five games. . . With two assists, Jarome Iginla (0-2—2) passed Sergei Fedorov for sole possession of 48th place on the NHL's all-time scoring list with 1,181 career points. . . Skating in his 1,338th career NHL game, Coyotes forward Shane Doan moved into sole possession of 48th place on the NHL's all-time games played list. . . Oilers forward Taylor Hall scored his 100th NHL goal while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins notched his 100th career assist on the goal. . . Blue Jackets defenseman James Wisniewski (500) and forward Dalton Prout (100) played in milestone games. . . The Canucks acquired defenseman Andrey Pedan from the Islanders in exchange for Alexandre Mallet and a third-round pick in 2016. . . Mark Giordano assisted on Calgary's last-minute goal; he leads all defensemen and shares fifth overall with 6-18—24. . . Forwards Sidney Crosby, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, defensemen P.K.
