MILESTONE NIGHT IN VANCOUVER

Jannik Hansen notched his first NHL hat trick and Bo Horvat recorded three assists and the Vancouver Canucks picked up a 4-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks in Daniel Sedin's 1,000th NHL regular-season game.

* Sedin, who was selected second overall by the Canucks in the 1999 Draft, was recognized for his achievement in a pre-game ceremony. He is the third player in Canucks history to play 1,000 games with the club, following Trevor Linden (1,140) and his twin brother, Henrik Sedin (1,031). Overall, Sedin is the 52nd player in NHL history to play at least 1,000 regular-season games with one franchise.

* Sedin is the Canucks' all-time leader in game-winning goals (69) and overtime goals (12). In addition, he ranks second in Canucks history for points (825) and assists (514) and third in goals (311).

* Hansen has scored in each of his past three games (5-0-5) to match the longest goal streak of his career (2 times; most-recent: Mar. 2 to 5, 2013).

* After scoring his first NHL goal on Thursday, Horvat (0-3-3) recorded his first career assist/multi-point game. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Horvat is first teenager to record three points in a game for the Canucks since Linden on Feb. 28, 1990 (2-1-3 vs. Philadelphia).

DUCKS RETAIN TOP SPOT IN WESTERN CONFERENCE . . .

Frederik Andersen stopped 26 shots, including 16 in the third period, and Patrick Maroon (1-1-2) scored his first goal of the season (which stood as the game-winner) and the Anaheim Ducks held on for a 2-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes. Anaheim improved to 6-0-1 against Arizona over the past two seasons.

* At 13-4-5 (31 points), the Ducks sit atop the Western Conference standings and have earned at least 31 point through 22 games for the third straight season and for the fourth time in franchise history (also 2006-07, 35 points).

* Maroon's game-winner was the fourth of his career. He is the 10th different Ducks player to score a game-winning goal this season (in 10 regulation/overtime victories).

* Ryan Kesler notched two assisted and now ranks third on the team in assists (11) and points (17).

HOMETOWN BOYS HELP BLUES KEEP PACE

Winnipeg natives Alexander Steen (0-2-2) and Ryan Reaves (1-0-1) led the charge and the St. Louis Blues erased a 2-1 deficit with three unanswered goals in a 4-2 win against the Winnipeg Jets. The Blues picked up their fifth straight win against the Jets dating to Oct. 29, 2013 and improved to 14-3-4 all-time against the Jets/Thrashers franchise.

* Overall the Blues have won 12 of their past 15 games and now sit atop the Central Division with 29 points (14-6-1). They are one point ahead of the idle Nashville Predators (13-5-2, 28 points) for the division lead and two points behind Anaheim for top spot in the Western Conference.

* Reaves' goal was his third of the season (20 GP), moving him within one of his career-high set in 2012-13 (43 GP). The goal also counted as his fourth career game-winner and first since Apr. 19, 2013 vs. Dallas.

* Steen set up David Backes' tying goal with a long stretch pass and now has 4-2-6 in six career games against his hometown team.

* Rookie goaltender Jake Allen stopped 28 shots to improve to 6-2-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage this season.

LUNDQVIST BACKSTOPS RANGERS TO SECOND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 21 shots he faced and Dominic Moore's opening goal stood as the game-winner in the New York Rangers' 5-0 win against the Montreal Canadiens. Via Elias, the Rangers scored at least five goals in a shutout of the Canadiens for the first time since Feb. 25, 1967 (5-0 win at Montreal Forum).

* Elias also says the Rangers shut out the Canadiens on home ice in the regular season for the third time in the past 44 years (also John Vanbiesbrouck: Oct. 12, 1990 and Lundqvist: Feb. 27, 2007).

* You only have to go back to their most-recent game in New York, though, to find the previous time the Rangers shut out the Canadiens in any game (regular season or Stanley Cup Playoffs). In Game 6 of the 2014 Eastern Conference Final, Lundqvist stopped 18 shots and Moore also scored the game-winner to eliminate the Canadiens from the postseason with a 1-0 victory.

* The Rangers extended their shutout streak to 122:51, their longest since a 127:30 stretch from Jan. 9 to 14, 2010, and picked up consecutive regular-season shutouts (also Cam Talbot on Wednesday vs. Philadelphia) for the first time since March 17 and 19, 2003 (both by Mike Dunham). They have back-to-back regular-season shutouts by different goaltenders for the first time since Nov. 30 and Dec. 3, 1977 (Wayne Thomas and John Davidson, respectively, according to Elias).

* Lundqvist recorded the 54th shutout of his career to tie Ed Giacomin and Bernie Parent for 20th on the all-time list. He shares the League-lead with four blank sheets this season (tied with Marc-Andre Fleury).

* Laval, Que. native Martin St. Louis (1-1-2) stretched his point streak to four games (3-2-5) to move within two points of 1,000 in his NHL career.

* Rick Nash scored his 14th goal of the season and is now tied with Steven Stamkos for second in the League, one behind Tyler Seguin.

* Overall 13 different Rangers scored a point, including all 12 forwards. Per Elias, the most-recent time all Rangers forwards tallied at least one point in a game was on December 17, 1980 vs. Winnipeg.

BOUMEESTER'S "IRONMAN" STREAK ENDS

Jay Bouwmeester missed his first game in more than 10 years, ending his consecutive games played streak at 737. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, his "Ironman" streak was the longest active games played in the four major North American professional sports leagues (NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL) and the fifth-longest in NHL history.

Blues defenseman Barret Jackman played in his 744th career game with the team to tie Brett Hull for third on their all-time list. … St. Louis native Chris Butler made his debut with the Blues after signing with them in the offseason. … Rangers forward Chris Kreider (0-2-2) posted his first multi-assist game since Jan. 21 when he matched a career-high with 1-2-3. … Blackhawks forward Bryan Bickell (300) and Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm (100) played in milestone games. … Jesper Fast (NYR) recorded his first NHL assist/point. … Chicago's Brent Seabrook (2-3-5, five games) and Kris Versteeg (3-4-7, four games) extended point streaks.
