Ducks' Stoner sits because of 'mumps-like symptoms'
Anaheim Ducks defenseman Clayton Stoner was held out of the game Sunday against the Arizona Coyotes because of "mild mumps-like symptoms," according to the Ducks.

ANAHEIM -- Anaheim Ducks defenseman Clayton Stoner missed the game Sunday at Honda Center against the Arizona Coyotes because of "mild mumps-like symptoms," the Ducks announced.

Stoner is not confirmed to have the disease, but he was held out for precautionary reasons, according to the Ducks.

Anaheim earlier this month had right wing Corey Perry and defenseman Francois Beauchemin each miss five games because of mumps. The Ducks said at the time that all players would get vaccinated.

Ducks left wing Rene Bourque made his Anaheim debut after he was acquired Thursday from the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Bryan Allen.
