WHL Roundup: Connor Gay scores in overtime as Pats edge Oil Kings 5-4

REGINA - Connor Gay scored his second goal of the game at 2:45 of overtime to lead the Regina Pats over the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings 5-4 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.

Colby Williams, Rykr Cole and Dryden Hunt also had goals for the Pats (12-9-1), who won their fourth straight.

Lane Bauer struck twice for the Oil Kings (11-8-3). Luke Bertolucci and Tyler Robertson rounded out the attack.

Daniel Wapple made 28 saves for the win while Tristan Jarry kicked out 29 shots for Edmonton.

Regina scored once on three power-play chances while the Oil Kings went 2 for 6.

TIGERS 4 REBELS 2

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Cole Sandford scored his 15th goal of the season as the Tigers doubled-up Red Deer.

Tommy Vannelli, Ty Stanton and David Quenneville also chipped in for Medicine Hat (15-4-2), which scored four-straight goals to start the game.

Presten Kopeck and Wyatt Johnson responded for the Rebels (11-9-3).

GIANTS 6 COUGARS 4

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Shaun Dosanjh scored late in the third period as Vancouver got past the Cougars.

Clayton Kirichenko, Dalton Sward, Matt Bellerive, Arvin Atwal and Carter Popoff rounded out the offence for the Giants (9-12-0).

Chase Witala scored a pair of goals for Prince George (11-12-0), which lost its fourth straight. Jari Erricson and David Soltes picked up the other goals.

ROYALS 4 ROCKETS 3 (OT)

VICTORIA — Axel Blomqvist scored his 10th goal of the season in overtime as the Royals edge Kelowna.

Jack Walker, Brandon Magee and Austin Carroll also had goals for Victoria (12-10-2).

Tyson Baillie had two goals and an assist for the Rockets (20-1-2) with Kris Schmidli rounding out the attack.
