The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled defenseman Stephen Johns and goaltender Antti Raanta from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and reassigned forward Joakim Nordstrom and goaltender Scott Darling to Rockford.
Additionally, the Blackhawks have placed defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk on long-term injury (LTI). van Riemsdyk, 23, has one assist in 18 games this season.
Johns, 22, has five assists in 16 games with Rockford this season. The Ellwood City, Pa., native made his professional debut with Rockford on April 4, 2014, after playing four seasons at the University of Notre Dame. Johns, the team’s second-round selection (60th overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Draft, has recorded 10 points (1g, 9a) in 24 career games with Rockford.
