Red Wings goalie Gustavsson out two months
The Detroit Red Wings expect goaltender Jonas Gustavsson to miss two months after dislocating his left shoulder, the team said Friday.

The Detroit Red Wings expect goaltender Jonas Gustavsson to miss two months after dislocating his left shoulder, the team said Friday.

Gustavsson was injured Wednesday reaching for a rebound before Derick Brassard scored 1:50 into overtime to give the New York Rangers a 4-3 win. Gustavsson made 26 saves in his first start in five games.

General manager Ken Holland told the Red Wings website that surgery is not planned and Gustavsson will be evaluated in 4-6 weeks.

The Red Wings recalled Petr Mrazek from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League, and he backed up starter Jimmy Howard against the New Jersey Devils on Friday.

In 11 NHL games during the past two seasons, Mrazek is 3-5-0 with a 1.80 goals-against average and .926 save percentage. Mrazek was 1-2-0 with a 3.80 GAA and .854 save percentage in four games this season with the Griffins.

"I think he's a real good goalie. He's really good with the puck," coach Mike Babcock told the Red Wings website Friday. "He hasn't had the kind of start he's wanted in the American Hockey League. He's going to get an opportunity to play in a game that [Gustavsson] was going to play, and you have to show you can win in the League."
