QMJHL Roundup: Phelan scores winner in overtime as Cataractes beat Drakkar

SHAWINIGAN, Que. - James Phelan scored 3:03 into overtime as the Shawinigan Cataractes defeated the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 5-4 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Alexis D'Aoust had two goals and two assists for Shawinigan (10-9-2) with Gabriel Slight and Anthony Beauvillier also finding the back of the net in regulation.

Maxime St-Cyr struck twice for the Drakkar (13-5-3) with Luca Ciampini and Jasmin Boutet also chipping in.

Marvin Cupper made 29 saves for the win while Philippe Cadorette turned aside 35 shots in the loss.

Baie-Comeau was 1 for 2 on the power play while the Cataractes were scoreless on seven attempts.

HALIFAX — Justice Dundas had a pair of goals for Saint John to lead them past the Mooseheads.

Nathan Noel and Adam Marsh also chipped in for the Seadogs (13-3-3)

Montreal Canadiens prospect Nikolaj Ehlers and Samuel Leblanc scored for Halifax (7-11-2).

BATHURST, N.B. — Conor Garland scored twice and added an assist for Moncton as they skated past the Titan.

Lane Cormier also had a pair of goals for the Wildcats (12-8-0).

Aaron Kerr found the back of the net in the first period for Acadie-Bathurst (5-15-1).

REMPARTS 6 VOLTIGEURS 2

QUEBEC CITY — Adam Erne had two goals for the Remparts as they dominated Drummondville.

Marc-Olivier Roy, Olivier Garneau, Ryan Graves and Zachery Moody rounded out the attack for Quebec (13-6-0).

Dylan Montcalm scored shorthanded for the Voltigeurs (9-8-2) while Joey Ratelle had the other.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Chase Marchand made 33 saves to record the shutout for the Tigres over Sherbrooke.

Gabriel Gagne struck twice for Victoriaville (11-6-3) with Jordan Ty Fournier and Carl Marois also finding the back of the net.

Alex Bureau kicked out 21 shots for the Phoenix (13-7-0).

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Fabrizio Ricci had a goal and an assist for the Armada over Rouyn-Noranda.

Alexandre Delisle-Houde, Philippe Sanche and Nikita Jevpalovs rounded out the Blainville-Boisbriand (11-6-2) attack.

Francis Perron had a power-play goal for the Huskies (10-9-1).

GATINEAU, Que. — Filip Chlapik scored two of Charlottetown's three third-period goals in its win over the Olympiques.

Keith Getson and David Henley chipped in for the Islanders (9-10-2).

Vaclav Karabacek opened the scoring for Gatineau (10-8-4).

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Alexis Loiseau had two goals and two assists in the Oceanic's rout of Chicoutimi.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Frederik Gauthier, William Couture, Simon Bourque, Vincent Dunn, Samuel Laberge and Michael Joly rounded out the Rimouski (14-6-2) offence.

Nicolas Roy had a third-period goal for the Sagueneens (7-11-1).
