Red Wings goalie Gustavsson dislocated shoulder
Detroit Red Wings goalie Jonas Gustavsson injured his shoulder in overtime of a 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Wednesday.

Detroit Red Wings goalie Jonas Gustavsson will miss the next several weeks because of a dislocated left shoulder sustained Wednesday against the New York Rangers, general manager Ken Holland said Thursday.

"I don't have any timeframe for you," Holland told the Red Wings website. "I don't know if he needs surgery or doesn't need surgery. I know it's dislocated. He's out for a significant period of time."

Gustavsson, 30, will have X-rays and be evaluated Friday. He was injured reaching for a rebound before Derick Brassard scored 1:50 into overtime to give the Rangers a 4-3 win. He made 26 saves in his first start in five games.

The Red Wings on Thursday recalled goalie Petr Mrazek from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League. Mrazek went 1-2-0 with a 3.80 goals-against average and .854 save percentage in four games with the Griffins. He is 3-5-0 with a 1.80 GAA and .926 save percentage in 11 NHL games, including 2-4-0 with a 1.74 GAA and .927 save percentage in nine appearances with Detroit last season.

"Our goaltending has been good in the early going with Gus and Jimmy Howard," Holland told Mlive.com. "Gus was a big part in us making the playoffs last year. We're disappointed he's got a significant injury [but] we feel really good we have Petr Mrazek.

"We feel fortunate we have depth. [Mrazek] had a good preseason. In the few outings he had last year he played well."
