Devils' Merrill to miss time with upper-body injury
New Jersey Devils defenseman Jon Merrill will be out at least two games with an upper-body injury, northjersey.com reported Wednesday.

New Jersey Devils defenseman Jon Merrill has an upper-body injury and won't accompany the team on its three-game road trip.

Merrill, who was a late scratch on Tuesday in a 1-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues at Prudential Center, was slashed on his arm in a victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said X-rays were negative on Merrill's arm, but that he would be out at least two games, according to northjersey.com

The Devils begin a three-game road trip in St. Louis on Thursday, before traveling to face the Detroit Red Wings on Friday and Boston Bruins on Monday.

Lamoriello also confirmed that forwards Mike Cammalleri (jaw) and Martin Havlat (lower body) have each resumed skating but will not join the team on the trip. Forward Jordin Tootoo (bruised left foot) has been practicing and will travel with the team.
