TARASENKO LEADS BLUES TO FIFTH STRAIGHT WIN

Vladimir Tarasenko scored a highlight reel, one-handed goal, added an assist and notched the shootout clincher to lead the St. Louis Blues to their fifth straight win, a 4-3 shootout decision against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Tarasenko now has 6-2-8 in his past four games and leads his team in goals (7) and points (13) this season. The game was a back-and-forth affair with each team leading on two separate occasions (including the Blues' shootout clincher).

* The Blues have won eight of their past nine trips to Madison Square Garden (8-0-1), and haven't lost in regulation there since Jan. 20, 1998.

* Patrik Berglund scored his first goal of the season to break a 23-game goalless drought and defenseman Jay Bouwmeester scored his first of the season to snap a 44-game drought.

LOOSE PUCKS

Martin St. Louis(2-0-2) registered his first multi-goal game of the season and first as a member of the New York Rangers. St. Louis' most recent multi-goal game came as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 1, 2014 against the Dallas Stars. … Rangers forward Chris Kreider scored a goal while skating in his 100th career NHL game. … The Department of Player Safety suspended Edmonton Oilers defenseman Andrew Ference for three games for an illegal check to the head of Vancouver Canucks forward Zack Kassian. … Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko, Detroit Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk and Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury were named the NHL's "Three Stars" for week ending Nov. 2. Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Pearson, who led all rookies with seven goals and nine points in 11 games, has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for October. Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry, Penguins forward Sidney Crosby and Stars forward Tyler Seguin were named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the month of October.
