Predators' Volchenkov suspended four games
Nashville Predators defenseman Anton Volchenkov has been suspended for four games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Calgary Flames forward Michael Ferland.

NEW YORK - Nashville Predators defenseman Anton Volchenkov has been suspended for four games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Calgary Flames forward Michael Ferland during NHL Game No. 151 in Calgary on Friday, October 31, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 19:06 of the second period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Volchenkov will forfeit $21,505.36. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
