COMEBACKS CONTINUE

Five clubs overcame a deficit (at some point in the game) to earn a victory on Saturday:

* James Reimer stopped 45 shots, including all 26 he faced in the third period, and Peter Holland broke a 2-2 tie in the final period to lift the Toronto Maple Leafs to their third consecutive victory. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Maple Leafs are the first team to surrender at least 25 shots in the third period without allowing a goal since Oct. 22, 2008, when Craig Anderson of the Florida Panthers stopped 26 shots against the Ottawa Senators. Holland's goal was his first of the season and second winning tally of his career (also Nov. 11, 2011 vs. the Vancouver Canucks while he was with the Anaheim Ducks). Toronto has consecutive wins against the Chicago Blackhawks (also 7-3 win on Dec. 14, 2013) for the first time since winning four straight from April 6, 2001 to Feb. 12, 2003.

* After falling behind 2-1 in the second period, the Tampa Bay Lightning scored three of the next four goals, paced by two points from Tyler Johnson (0-2—2) and Nikita Kucherov (1-1—2), en route to their third consecutive victory. Johnson shares the League lead with 13 assists and is tied for fifth with 14 points. Jason Garrison scored for the second straight game; both goals have been game-winners. Ryan Callahan also scored for the Lightning, which is now 9-0-0 when he scores since he was acquired from the New York Rangers at the 2014 NHL Trade Deadline.

* Trailing 2-1 after 40 minutes, Adam Henrique tied the game and Adam Larsson scored the game-winner less than two minutes later to lift the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. New Jersey also overcame a third-period deficit on Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets en route to a 2-1 shootout victory. The Devils improved to 10-4-3 all-time against the Blue Jackets, including 6-0-2 mark at Prudential Center. Cory Schneider stopped 32 of 34 shots to improve to 8-2-1 in his career against the Blue Jackets.

* Derek Dorsett (1-1—2) matched a career-high with two points, including his shorthanded goal that broke a 2-2 tie in the third period, as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Edmonton Oilers for the third time this season. Ryan Miller turned aside 25 shots to earn his League-leading eighth win (8-1-0); he is 10-0-0 career against Edmonton.

* Tomas Hertl scored the first of three unanswered San Jose Sharks goals 2:17 after the New York Islanders' Kyle Okposo opened the scoring in a 3-1 victory. San Jose is 13-3-3 in its past 19 games against the Islanders.

FOUR SHUTOUTS, THREE GAMES

Four goaltender posted shutouts on Saturday, with three leading their teams to victory:

* Marc-Andre Fleury (18 saves) had his second consecutive shutout, extending his shutout streak to a career-high 154:46, in the Pittsburgh Penguins' 5-0 victory against the Buffalo Sabres. In his past four games, Fleury has three shutouts, a 0.75 goals-against average and a .969 save percentage. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this marks the third time in franchise history the Penguins have posted shutouts in consecutive games: they had three in a row from March 26 to 30, 2013 and back-to-back shutouts on Feb. 8-19, 1993. Fleury joins Tomas Vokoun (March 28-30, 2013) as the only goaltenders in club history to have shutouts in consecutive team games.

* Cam Ward stopped all 25 shots he faced and Elias Lindholm matched a career-high with two goals (also April 1, 2014 at Pittsburgh), including the game-winner, to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to their first win of the season. The 3-0 victory against the Arizona Coyotes also marked the first win of Bill Peters' NHL coaching career. Ward's shutout was the 22nd of his career and first since March 27, 2012, at Toronto when he stopped 30 shots to move into sole possession of first on the franchise's all-time shutouts list, surpassing Arturs Irbe. Six of the last 10 meetings between the Hurricanes and Coyotes have been shutouts; Arizona has four, Carolina has two.

* Ondrej Pavelec of the Winnipeg Jets stopped 38 shots and three of four shootout attempts to earn his first shutout of the season and 12th of his career in a 1-0 road victory against the New York Rangers. His 38 saves are his highest total since March 6, when he stopped 38 shots against the Los Angeles Kings. Evander Kane scored his second career shootout goal – both of which have been game-deciding goals – to lift the Jets to a 3-0-1 record in their past four games.

* Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist stopped 25 shots and two of four shootout attempts to earn his 53rd career shutout in a losing cause. The game was the 584th of his career, surpassing Gump Worsley for sole possession of second in the franchise's all-time list.

MORE SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS

* Aaron Ekblad's first NHL goal stood as the game-winner as the Florida Panthers improved to 4-0-2 in their past six games with a 2-1 victory against the Philadelphia Flyers. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Ekblad (18 years, 267 days) is the youngest defenseman in franchise history to score a goal. Roberto Luongo stopped 36 shots to improve to 4-0-1 with a 1.40 goals-against average and .959 save percentage in his past five outings.

* The St. Louis Blues opened a 2-0 lead 46 seconds into the third period before the Colorado Avalanche extended the game with two goals in a span of 2:54. But Blues forward Joakim Lindstrom scored the only goal in the shootout to lift St. Louis to its fourth consecutive win. Brian Elliott made 27 saves and stopped all three shootout attempts to improve to 4-2-1 this season with a 1.96 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage. Vladimir Tarasenko scored both goals in regulation; he leads the Blues with six goals and 11 points.

* Matt Dumba scored his first second career goal and first game-winner and Darcy Kuemper turned aside 19 shots as the Minnesota Wild defeated the Dallas Stars 4-1 to remain perfect at the Xcel Energy Center this season (5-0-0). Zach Parise had two assists to boost his team scoring lead to 10 points. Thomas Vanek had his first goal with Minnesota and stretched his point streak to three games (1-3—4).

* Matt Fraser notched his first career multi-goal/point game, including his first game-winning goal, to help the Boston Bruins improve to 39-18-6 all-time against the Ottawa Senators, including a 16-4-0 record in their past 20 games.

* Facing his brother, Trevor, for the first time in their careers – and with their parents and younger brother, Brendan, in attendance – Toronto's James van Riemsdyk scored his 100th NHL goal. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the van Riemsdyks are one of 15 sets of brothers playing in the NHL this season.

STREAKS CONTINUE

* Sidney Crosby (0-3—3) extended his point streak to four games with his fourth three-point performance of the season, maintaining his League scoring lead (7-11—18). Crosby has points in each of his last 18 games against Buffalo (10-21—31), his longest active point streak against any team.

* Evgeni Malkin (1-2—3) had a season-high three points to extend his point streak to 10 games. Malkin's stretch is the longest active streak in the NHL after Columbus forward Ryan Johansen (5-8—13) had his 10-game streak halted against New Jersey. Chris Kunitz (4-3—7, three games), Patric Hornqvist (2-4—6, four games) and Kris Letang (1-2—3, three games) also extended their personal point streaks.

* Carolina's Jiri Tlusty scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season to extend his point streak to three games (2-1—3). Eric Staal had an assist and now has a point in each of his four games this season

* Philadelphia's Jakub Voracek had an assist for the fifth straight game to maintain his League lead with 13; he's tied with Tampa Bay's Tyler Johnson.

* Oilers forward Taylor Hall stretched his point streak to four games (2-2—4).

* Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson had two assists to stretch his point streak to three games (1-4—5).

* Toronto's line of Nazem Kadri (2-1--3), Phil Kessel (1-3—4) and Daniel Winnik (1-3—4) have combined for 11 points in Toronto's past two games. They teamed up for the opening goal in their win against Chicago.

HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER

The Maple Leafs and Blues hosted their Hockey Fights Cancer Nights: Carley Allison sang "O Canada" in Toronto – she fought a rare (1 in 3.5 billion) cancer where two inches of her trachea had to be removed and is now fighting double lung cancer; in St. Louis, Alex Pietrangelo's five-year-old niece, Ellie, dropped the ceremonial puck – she was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor in August.

Vancouver forwards Nick Bonino (200) and Jannik Hansen (400), Ottawa defenseman Eric Gryba (100), Rangers defenseman Matt Hunwick (300) and Columbus forward Ryan Johansen (200) played in milestone games . . . Anton Forsberg (Columbus), Sam Carrick (Toronto) and Rocco Grimaldi (Florida) made their NHL debuts . . . Canucks forward Chris Higgins had his 300th NHL point . . . Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman (plus-2 vs. Washington) leads the League with a plus-13 rating . . . Alex Ovechkin had one assist to snap a five-game point streak – the longest of his career – and move within five points of passing Peter Bondra (825) for the Capitals' all-time points lead. Teammate Marcus Johansson (1-1—2) had his 100th NHL assist . . . Via Elias: Chicago had at least 25 shots in a third period for the first time since Feb. 14, 1991 (25 shots vs. the Quebec Nordiques) . . . Pittsburgh scored multiple power-play goals for the fourth consecutive game; they lead the NHL with a 41.9 percent success rate with the man advantage this season (18-43) . . . Tennis stars Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki attended the Jets-Rangers game . . .
