Canucks' Burrows suspended three games
Vancouver Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows has been suspended for three games, without pay, for a late, illegal check to the head of Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin.

NEW YORK -- Vancouver Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows has been suspended for three games, without pay, for a late, illegal check to the head of Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin during NHL Game No. 147 in Vancouver on Thursday, October 30, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 8:23 of the second period.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Burrows will forfeit $72,580.65. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
