Bruins' Krug to miss 2-3 weeks with broken finger
Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug will miss 2-3 weeks with a broken finger, the team announced Wednesday.

Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug will miss 2-3 weeks with a broken finger, the team announced Wednesday.

Krug, who sustained the injury in a 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, has two goals, six points and a plus-2 rating in 11 games this season.

"I think it was a slash there on his last shift," coach Claude Julien said. "He got slashed on the finger and I was just told when we pulled our goalie that Torey was gone, and that's when I found out."

The Bruins, who are already without defenseman Zdeno Chara for 4-6 weeks with a knee injury, recalled defensemen Joe Morrow and David Warsofsky from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

"If we sat here in August and said this was going to happen to the D-corps here, I think we all would have been shaking our heads," Warsofsky said. "It's a little bit different, but for me it's an opportunity and that's how I'm looking at it and just take advantage of it."

Morrow and Warsofsky joined the team at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass., on Wednesday for practice and will travel with the team to Buffalo. The Bruins play the Sabres on Saturday.
