Wolves coach issues apology for holding expletive-filled post-game availability

SUDBURY, Ont. - The head coach of the Sudbury Wolves has issued an apology after holding an expletive-filled post-game media availability session this week.

Paul Fixter spoke to reporters outside the dressing room at the Essar Centre after the Wolves dropped a 7-2 decision to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to fall to 1-10-0 on the season.

At one point, he used a curse word to describe the Wolves' play after the first period of Wednesday night's game. When another reporter asked about his team's work ethic, a few F-bombs were dropped during a testy exchange.

"I apologize for my use of profanity after last evening's loss to the Greyhounds," Fixter said on the team's website. "I could have chosen my words more carefully, however, I stand by my players, the organization and the fans of the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club.

"The coaching staff is a passionate group and we feel the stress of losing. We are working diligently to strive to improve our record and make the fans of the Sudbury Wolves proud."

The Wolves were scheduled to play the visiting Peterborough Petes on Friday night.
