ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Chris Wideman scored 6:19 into overtime as the Binghamton Senators edged the St. John's IceCaps 3-2 on Wednesday in American Hockey League action.
Wideman's goal was in three-on-three play, after three minutes of four-on-four play.
Carl Klingberg forced extra time for St. John's (2-2-3) with a goal 15:00 into the third period. Patrice Cormier also had a goal for the IceCaps, while Peter Budaj stopped 33 shots.
Neither team scored on the power play, with the Senators going 0 for 5 and St. John's 0 for 2.
