Red Wings' Datsyuk could return Tuesday: report
Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk, who has missed the first five games of the season with a separated shoulder, could return to the lineup on Tuesday, according to reports.

Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk, who has missed the first five games of the season with a separated shoulder, could return to the lineup on Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Goaltender Jimmy Howard (groin) might also return to the lineup and forward Johan Franzen was put on the seven-day injured reserve list, according to the Free Press.

Datsyuk was back at team practice on Monday and will decide after the morning skate on Tuesday if he's ready to play against the Canadiens. Datsyuk was estimated to be out four weeks after sustaining the shoulder injury on Sept. 22 during training camp. He would certainly play a big role in boosting the Detroit power play, which is 2-for-21 this season.

Howard, who was placed on 48-hour goalie injured reserve with a groin injury on Saturday, was also at practice on Monday and said he feels well enough to start on Tuesday. The Red Wings returned goalie Petr Mrazak to the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League on Monday.

Franzen, who sustained a muscle spasm in his thigh on Friday in a 4-1 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Air Canada Centre, did not play against the Maple Leafs in the rematch, a 1-0 overtime win, at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday.
