Flyers' Lecavalier out because of lower-body injury
Philadelphia Flyers forward Vincent Lecavalier will miss two weeks because of a lower-body injury, the Flyers announced Monday

Philadelphia Flyers forward Vincent Lecavalier will miss two weeks and defenseman Braydon Coburn is day-to-day with lower-body injuries, the Flyers said Monday.

Lecavalier appeared to sustain an injury to his left foot when he blocked a shot taken by defenseman Mark Streit during a 4-3 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. He played a season-high 16:10 Saturday and was one of the Flyers' four shooters in the shootout, but he walked out of Wells Fargo Center with a boot on his left foot, according to Philly.com.

Lecavalier has one goal and two assists in three games. He's averaging 15:37 of ice time per game, including 4:32 on the power play to lead all Philadelphia forwards.

Coburn has missed the past two games and did not practice Monday. He had three shots on goal and was a plus-1 in 20:02 of ice time in the Flyers' season-opening 2-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on Oct. 8.

In addition, the Flyers said defenseman Nicklas Grossmann has a stomach virus and missed practice Monday. Grossmann is averaging 18:31 of ice time per game.

The Flyers also announced defenseman Samuel Morin, the 11th pick of the 2013 NHL Draft, will miss approximately 4-5 weeks with a fractured jaw, an injury he sustained playing for Rimouski Oceanic in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Philadelphia (0-2-1) plays Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks at Wells Fargo Center.
