Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin will miss a few more games, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Muzzin sat out the Kings' season-opening 4-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks with an undisclosed injury. The Kings next play Saturday at the Arizona Coyotes.
"Practice-wise, skating, lungs, everything feels fine," Muzzin told the Kings website. "It's just kind of a fluky injury that I have to sit out for a couple of games."
The 25-year-old was partnered with Drew Doughty last season on the Kings' top defense pairing. Muzzin had 24 points and a plus-8 rating in 76 regular-season games and six goals and 12 points in 26 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Times also reported Kings forward Trevor Lewis is day-to-day with a mid- to upper-body injury.
Lewis had six shots and a minus-1 rating in 10:29 of ice time Wednesday in the loss to the Sharks.
The 27-year-old had six goals, five assists and six penalty minutes last season in 73 regular-season games, and four goals in 26 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
