The NHL will host a press event Thursday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., site of the 2015 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series game between the San Jose Sharks and the Los Angeles Kings.

The game will be played Feb. 21, 2015. Among those on hand to discuss it will be NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, NHL Chief Operating Officer John Collins, Sharks general manager Doug Wilson and Kings president of business operations Luc Robitaille. The press event can be seen live on NHL Network and NHL.com at 6 p.m. ET.

"The growing excitement around NHL hockey in California, the intensity of last season's playoff series between these teams and the state-of-the-art setting at Levi's Stadium will bring a thrilling new dimension to the Kings-Sharks rivalry," Commissioner Bettman said in August.

The Kings are the defending Stanley Cup champions, their second League title in the past three seasons. To get there in 2014 they defeated the Sharks in a memorable Western Conference First Round series that saw them become the fourth team in NHL history to rally from a 3-0 series deficit.

It's the second time the League will stage an outdoor game on the West Coast. Last season the Kings and Anaheim Ducks played a memorable NHL Stadium Series game at Dodger Stadium, with the Ducks winning 3-0.
