WHL Roundup: Sanford scores two, Langhamer 35 saves as Tigers beat Oil Kings

EDMONTON - Cole Sanford had a pair of goals and Marek Langhamer stopped 35 shots as the Medicine Hat Tigers downed the host Edmonton Oil Kings 4-2 on Tuesday in Western Hockey League action.

Ty Stanton and Chad Butcher also scored for the Tigers (4-1-0) while Tyler Lewington tacked on three assists.

Brett Pollock and Tyler Robertson supplied the scoring for the Oil Kings (3-1-0).

Edmonton's Tristan Jarry turned aside 25-of-29 shots in defeat.

Medicne Hat went 1 for 4 on the power play while the Oil Kings scored once on six chances with the man advantage.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Marc McNulty broke a 3-3 deadlock at 9:57 of the third period as the Cougars snapped a three-game losing streak by beating Swift Current.

Tyler Mrkonjic, Colby McAuley, David Soltes and Chase Witala also scored for Prince George (2-3-0) while Ty Edmonds kicked out 21 shots for the win.

Brett Lernout, Colby Cave and Max Lajoie scored for the Broncos (2-3-0). Travis Child made 17 saves in a losing cause.
