Dal Colle agrees to entry-level contract with Islanders
New York Islanders 2014 first-round pick Michael Dal Colle agreed to a three-year entry-level contract Monday

Michael Dal Colle, chosen by the New York Islanders with the No. 5 pick of the 2014 NHL Draft, agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract Monday.

Dal Colle had 39 goals and 95 points in 67 games with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League last season. The 6-foot-1, 182-pound forward, who can play center or wing, had eight goals and 20 points in 12 OHL playoff games and was named an OHL Second-Team All-Star.

He is No. 28 on the NHL.com Top 60 prospect ranking.

"The coaching staff sent the message that if you want to be a pro, you have to excel in all aspects," Dal Colle told Newsday. "Work ethic is what separates you if you want to play in the NHL."
