The uniform the Washington Capitals will wear for the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic will serve as a tribute to their past and the history of professional hockey in Washington.
The Capitals on Tuesday unveiled the uniform they will wear at Nationals Park, home of the Washington Nationals baseball team and the site of the 2015 NHL Winter Classic.

The primary color of the uniform is a deep red, and the white horizontal stripes on the shoulders, waist and legs represent elements of Washington professional hockey jerseys from the 1930s.
The logo on the jersey features a large blue W and has the white Capitals wordmark. The W features a silhouette of the Washington Monument.
"Each year the NHL Winter Classic uniform system is designed to pay homage to hockey's outdoor roots," NHL chief marketing officer and executive vice president Brian Jennings said. "We are extremely proud of the collaboration by Reebok, the Capitals and the NHL to creatively balance Washington's hockey past with today's innovations."
