ANAHEIM, Calif. - Dany Heatley scored in the opening minute of his first game with the Anaheim Ducks, helping them beat Colorado 4-0 in one of two split-squad games with the Avalanche on Monday night.
Heatley, who signed to a one-year, $1-million contract after spending last season with Minnesota, skated on the top line with Corey Perry — giving centre Ryan Getzlaf a 50-goal scorer on each side. Heatley accomplished the feat in back-to-back seasons with Ottawa (2005-06 and 2005-07). Perry did it in 2010-11 when he was the league's MVP.
