Roundup: Jackets edge Canes; Capitals blank Sabres
Cam Atkinson scored twice and Anton Forsberg made 29 saves to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-3 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Sunday.

Nick Foligno had a goal and an assist for Columbus and Mike Hoeffel also scored in the victory.

Andrej Sekera, Riley Nash and Chris Terry scored for Carolina. Cam Ward stopped 10 of 13 shots and Alex Nedeljkovic made five saves.

Capitals 1, Sabres 0

Andre Burakovsky scored the only goal of the game in the first period and Braden Holtby made 19 saves to lead the Washington Capitals past the Buffalo Sabres at Verizon Center.

Burakovsky's goal came 13:14 into the game when he took a nice pass from Jason Chimera and ripped a shot past Sabres goalie Nathan Lieuwen (24 saves).

Pheonix Copley played the first period for Washington and made six saves.

Blue Jackets 4, Blues 3 (OT)

Dillon Heatherington scored 2:36 into overtime to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets past the St. Louis Blues at Nationwide Arena.

Boone Jenner had a goal and an assist and Dalton Prout had two assists for the Blue Jackets. Curtis McElhinney stopped 23 of 24 shots and Oscar Dansk made 14 saves. 

Alexander Wennberg, Vladimir Tarasenko and Sebastian Wannstrom scored for the Blues. Jake Allen stopped eight of 11 shots; Matt Climie made nine saves.

Jenner experienced tightness, according to The Columbus Dispatch, and left the game for precautionary reasons.

Flames 1, Oilers 0

Calgary's TJ Brodie scored a power-play goal early in the second period and Jonas Hiller and Brad Thiessen combined for a 16-save shutout in a win against Edmonton at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Max Reinhart and Mark Giordano had assists on Brodie's goal. Hiller and Thiessen made eight saves apiece.

Edmonton was outshot 14-1 in the first period, but goalie Viktor Fasth stopped them all. Fasth finished with 19 saves; Laurent Brossoit stopped all eight shots he faced.

Oilers 3, Flames 1

Justin Schultz had a goal and an assist and Ben Scrivens made 14 saves to lead the Edmonton Oilers past the Calgary Flames at Rexall Place.

Marco Roy scored 1:28 into the game for the Oilers and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins added an insurance goal via the power play at 6:22 of the second period. Richard Bachman stopped all seven shots he faced.

Curtis Glencross scored a power-play goal for the Flames at 4:51 of the first. Joni Ortio stopped 21 of 24 shots in the loss.
