Newly arrived forward Patric Hornqvist hasn't worn any Pittsburgh Penguins uniform yet, but he's definitely looking forward to putting on this season's third jersey.
"It's sick," Hornqvist said. "It's really nice. It's looking good, a little old school, and hopefully we play good in it."
The Penguins will wear the black and Pittsburgh Gold jerseys in 12 games this season.
The Penguins website describes them as "reminiscent of the early 1990s Penguins team that won two Stanley Cups in 1991 and '92."
The Penguins wore the colors for 20 years before switching to Las Vegas gold in 2002.
"I like the throwback, the retro look," defenseman Rob Scuderi said. "It's something that, when I grew up, that's what I thought of the Penguins. It's kind of cool for me as a guy that grew up watching hockey all the time. I think the black and yellow is always a staple of Pittsburgh and something you associate with."
