Philadelphia Flyers center Ryan White had surgery Wednesday to repair his left pectoralis muscle, the team announced Thursday.
According to a statement from Flyers general manager Ron Hextall, the injury occurred last week during an off-ice workout. There is no timetable for White's return.
White signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Flyers on Aug. 7. The 26-year-old had two goals and six points in 52 games with the Montreal Canadiens last season.
In 141 NHL games, all with the Canadiens, White has five goals and 17 points.
