Maple Leafs renew ECHL affiliation with Orlando
The Toronto Maple Leafs have renewed their ECHL affiliation with the Orlando Solar Bears for two seasons.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have extended their affiliation with the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL.

The Maple Leafs will be Orlando's sole NHL affiliate for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. Toronto and the Minnesota Wild shared the affiliation last season.

"The Leafs are extremely pleased to renew our affiliation with the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL," Maple Leafs general manager Dave Nonis said Thursday. "As an organization, we are confident that our future prospects will continue to develop professionally under the tutelage of Solar Bears coach Vince Williams."

The Solar Bears had a 43-24-2-3 record last season, their second in the ECHL. They finished second in the South Division and advanced to the Kelly Cup Playoffs, losing to the Cincinnati Cyclones in the first round.

The Solar Bears will host the ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 21, 2015.
