Ottawa Senators sign goaltender Robin Lehner to three-year extension

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators have signed goaltender Robin Lehner to a three-year contract extension.

Lehner, 23, played a career-high 36 games last season posting a record of 12-15-6 with a 3.06 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.

He set a franchise record with 53 saves in a 5-4 shootout loss to the N.Y. Islanders on Nov. 1, and then became the first goaltender in franchise history to face greater than 50 shots in one game and earn a victory in a 5-4 shootout win over the Blues on Feb. 4 in St. Louis.

In 61 regular-season NHL games with Ottawa, Lehner has a record of 21-24-10, with a 2.82 GAA and .918 save percentage.

He has a 43-40-5 record, 2.73 GAA and .918 save percentage over 95 games with Binghamton of the American Hockey League. He was awarded the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the league's most valuable player in the post-season after helping Binghamton win the 2010-11 Calder Cup.

Lehner was Ottawa's second second-round pick (46th overall) in the 2009 draft.
