Two players chosen in the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft, will be part of the 23-man Czech Republic team that will take part in the Hockey Canada National Junior Team Summer Development Camp.

Two players picked in the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft will be part of the Czech Republic team that will take part in the Hockey Canada National Junior Team Summer Development Camp to be held Aug. 3-8 in Montreal.

The camp, which also will feature Canada and Russia, is one of the first steps in the construction of teams that will play in the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be played in Toronto and Montreal.

Jakub Vrana (No. 13, Washington Capitals) and David Pastrnak (No. 25, Boston Bruins) are two of six players that will take part in the camp who helped the Czechs finish sixth at the 2014 WJC in Malmo, Sweden. Vrana had one goal and one assist in five games; Pastrnak had one goal and two assists in five games.

Also at the camp from last year's team are defenseman David Nemecek and forwards David Kampf, Ondrej Kase and Patrick Zdrahal.

Of the 23 players attending for the Czechs, 18 are eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft. Five others were picked in the 2014 draft: Vrana, Pastrnak, Kase (Anaheim Ducks), defenseman Dominik Masin (Tampa Bay Lightning) and goaltender Vitek Vanecek (Washington Capitals).

Russia, which beat Canada to win the bronze medal at the previous two World Junior tournaments, will have three players from its 2014 team at the camp: forwards Ivan Barbashev, Pavel Buchnevich and Valentin Zykov.

Buchnevich, a 2013 third-round pick (No. 75) of the New York Rangers was second on the team at last year's tournament with seven points in seven games. Barbashev, a 2014 second-round pick (No. 33) of the St. Louis Blues, had one goal and one assist in seven games. Zykov, a 2013 second-round pick (No. 37) of the Los Angeles Kings, had six shots on goal in seven games.

Of the 28 players on Russia's roster, 19 are eligible for the NHL draft. Of the nine that have been drafted, two were by the Rangers: Buchnevich and goaltender Igor Shesterkin.

The teams will practice and play games around the Montreal area during the week. The Czechs also will take part in the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp, playing against the United States on Aug. 9 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
