Tatar, Red Wings agree to terms on three-year contract
The Detroit Red Wings agreed to terms with left wing Tomas Tatar on a new three-year contract, the team announced Monday.

The Detroit Red Wings agreed to terms with left wing Tomas Tatar on a three-year contract, the team announced Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reported the average annual value to be $2.75 million.

Tatar, 23, completed his first full NHL season in 2013-14 and ranked sixth on the Red Wings with 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) in 73 games. He represented Slovakia at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and had one goal and one assist in four games.

Selected by Detroit in the second round (No. 60) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Tatar has 24 goals and 23 assists in 100 games for the Red Wings.
