Brassard, who turns 27 years old in September, was a restricted free agent whose arbitration hearing was scheduled for Monday.

A Quebec native, Brassard joined the Rangers in an April 3, 2013 trade that sent Marian Gaborik to Columbus. During the Rangers run to the 2014 Stanley Cup Final, he tied for fourth on the team with 12 points. He has eight goals and 24 points in 35 postseason games.
