Sabres sign Adam to one-year, two-way contract
Forward Luke Adam has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Buffalo Sabres.

Forward Luke Adam has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Buffalo Sabres, the team announced on Sunday. Financial details were not disclosed.

Buffalo drafted Adam, 24, in the second round (No. 44) of the 2008 NHL Draft. He scored one goal and no assists in 12 games in 2013-14, spending much of the season with the Sabres' American Hockey League affiliate in Rochester. Last season, Adam led the Americans with 29 goals in 59 games and finished second on the team with 49 points.

Adam's best season with Buffalo came in 2011-12, when he scored 10 goals and 20 points in 52 games. In 87 NHL games, he has 15 goals, 26 points, a minus-11 rating and 32 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 206-pound center also has 77 goals and 161 points in 210 AHL games and won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award in 2011 as the AHL's outstanding rookie.
