Bellemore agrees to terms with Hurricanes
Defenseman Brett Bellemore has agreed to terms on one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced Friday.

Defenseman Brett Bellemore has agreed to terms on one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced Friday.

The Hurricanes said it will pay Bellemore $600,000 on the NHL level or $175,000 at the American Hockey League level.

Bellemore, 26, had two goals and six assists in 64 games with the Hurricanes in 2013-14, his first full NHL season. He ranked second on the Hurricanes and second among NHL rookie defensemen with 169 hits

Bellemore has played in 72 games with the Hurricanes, with two goals and eight assists since making his NHL debut March 21, 2013.

He was picked in the sixth round (No. 162) of the 2007 NHL Draft.
