Defenseman Keaton Ellerby has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the Winnipeg Jets worth $700,000, the team announced Thursday.
Ellerby, 25, was a first-round pick (No. 10) of the Florida Panthers in the 2007 NHL Draft and had two goals and six points last season in 51 games with the Jets, who claimed him off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings on Nov. 2.
In 211 NHL games with the Jets, Kings and Panthers, he has four goals and 26 points.
We have no doubt how he can play. You don't, with four teams that are left, you're not getting here without good goaltending. All great goalies left, and [Bishop] is a top-tier goaltender in this league and he's shown it.
