Defenseman David Warsofsky re-signed with the Boston Bruins on Thursday

The Boston Bruins on Thursday re-signed defenseman David Warsofsky to a one-year, two-way contract the team said is worth $600,000 at the NHL level.

Warsofsky, 24, appeared in six games for Boston during the 2013-14 season, scoring his first NHL goal against the Ottawa Senators on Dec. 28. He had one goal, two points and a plus-1 rating in the NHL.

Warsofsky played 56 regular-season games for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League, where he had six goals, 32 points and a plus-8 rating. He had two goals and nine points in 12 playoff games for Providence.

He has 14 goals and 80 points in 190 games with Providence since turning pro in 2010 after three seasons at Boston University. The native of Marshfield, Mass., was taken by the St. Louis Blues in the fourth round (No. 95) of the 2008 NHL Draft and was acquired by the Bruins in a trade for Vladimir Sobotka on June 26, 2010.
