Booth signs one-year contract with Maple Leafs
Forward David Booth signed a one-year contract Tuesday with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Forward David Booth signed a one-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team announced Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed, but James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports Booth will earn $1.1 million.

Booth, 29, received a compliance buyout from the Vancouver Canucks in June. He had nine goals and 19 points in 66 games last season and had one year at $4.75 million remaining on a six-year contract he signed prior to the 2009-10 season while with the Florida Panthers.

The Canucks acquired Booth from the Panthers early in the 2011-12 season. A 31-goal scorer in 2008-09, he was limited to 28 games the following season because of a concussion. Booth had 16 goals and 29 points in 56 games in his first season with the Canucks but managed 10 goals and 22 points in 78 games the past two seasons.

A second-round pick (No. 53) of the Panthers in the 2004 NHL Draft, Booth has 113 goals and 218 points in 443 games with Florida and Vancouver.
