Center Brandon Pirri and the Florida Panthers agreed to terms on a two-year contract, the team announced Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Pirri, 23, had 13 goals and 25 points in 49 games with the Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks last season. The center was acquired by the Panthers from Chicago on March 2. In 21 games with Florida he had seven goals and seven assists.
Pirri has 13 goals and 27 points in 56 NHL games with Chicago and Florida. The Toronto native was chosen by Chicago in the second round (No. 59) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
We have no doubt how he can play. You don't, with four teams that are left, you're not getting here without good goaltending. All great goalies left, and [Bishop] is a top-tier goaltender in this league and he's shown it.
