Blues sign forward Ferriero to one-year contract
Forward Benn Ferriero on Wednesday signed a one-year, two-way contract with the St. Louis Blues. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Forward Benn Ferriero on Wednesday signed a one-year, two-way contract with the St. Louis Blues. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ferriero, 27, played two games with the Vancouver Canucks last season but spent the majority with the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League. He ranked second on the Comets with 19 goals and third with 39 points in 54 regular-season games.

A seventh-round pick (No. 196) of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2006 NHL Draft, Ferriero has 14 goals and 23 points in 98 games with the San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers and Canucks. He has one goal in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games, scored in overtime for the Sharks against the Detroit Red Wings in 2011.

Ferriero was a member of Boston College's 2008 NCAA national championship team.
