Edmonton Oilers sign forwards Pitlick, Hamilton to one-year contracts

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers agreed to terms on one-year contracts with forwards Tyler Pitlick and Curtis Hamilton on Tuesday.

Pitlick, 22, played in 10 games with the Oilers last season, registering his first career NHL goal on Oct. 26th against the Phoenix Coyotes. He also appeared in 39 games for the American Hockey League's Oklahoma City Barons in 2013-14, scoring eight goals with 14 assists and 10 penalty minutes.

Pitlick was selected by Edmonton in the second round of the 2010 NHL draft.

Hamilton, 22, has 36 points (18 goals and 18 assists), along with 41 penalty minutes in 145 career AHL games. He was also drafted by Edmonton in the second round of the '10 draft.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.
