Panthers sign defenseman Olsen to two-year contract
The Florida Panthers on Monday signed defenseman Dylan Olsen, and forwards Garrett Wilson and Ryan Martindale.

Defenseman Dylan Olsen signed a two-year contract with the Florida Panthers, the team announced Monday. Financial details were not disclosed.

Olsen, 23, was a restricted free agent who played 44 games for Florida last season. He scored three goals and 12 points, and had a career-high five-game point streak in early December.

A first-round pick (No. 28) of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Draft, Olsen was acquired by the Panthers on Nov. 14 along with forward Jimmy Hayes in a trade that sent forward Kris Versteeg to Chicago. The University of Minnesota-Duluth product has three goals and 13 points in 72 NHL games.

The Panthers also announced Monday that they signed forwards Garrett Wilson and Ryan Martindale to one-year, two-way contracts.

Wilson, 23, was chosen by Florida in the fourth round (No. 107) of the 2009 NHL Draft and played in three games with the Panthers last season. In 71 games last season with Florida's American Hockey League affiliate in San Antonio, he scored 14 goals and 30 points.

Martindale, 22, was taken by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round (No. 61) of the 2010 draft and was acquired by Florida on Jan. 17 in a trade that sent forward Steve Pinizzotto to Edmonton. He played last season in the AHL, scoring eight goals and 24 points in 59 games split between San Antonio and the Oilers affiliate in Oklahoma City.
