Forward Ben Hanowski signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Calgary Flames, the team announced Saturday.

Forward Ben Hanowski signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Calgary Flames, the team announced Saturday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Hanowski, 23, was acquired by the Flames from the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 27, 2013 in the trade involving Jarome Iginla.

Hanowski played 11 games with the Flames this season and had two assists. He played 55 games with the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League; he had 13 goals and 18 assists with 18 penalty minutes.

Hanowski was selected by the Penguins in the third round (No. 63) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
