Defenseman Cameron Gaunce has signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars, the team announced Friday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Gaunce, 24, played in nine games with Dallas last season, and 65 with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.
The Markham, Ontario, native led Texas defensemen with a plus-15 rating and had three goals and 15 assists. Gaunce had four assists and a plus-6 rating in 18 Calder Cup Playoff games, helping Texas win the championship.
Gaunce was chosen by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round (No. 50) of the 2008 NHL Draft. He was acquired April 2, 2013, by Dallas in a trade for center Tomas Vincour.
Gaunce has one goal in 20 NHL games with Colorado and Dallas.
