Wild's Parise stars in celebrity softball game
Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise had two hits playing in the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game.

Zach Parise's scouting report on himself proved to be accurate this weekend.

The Minnesota Wild forward singled and doubled playing in the Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game at Target Field on Sunday, part of Major League Baseball's All-Star festivities.

"I was always a small-ball player when I played baseball anyway, never much of a home-run guy," Parise told the Pioneer Press. "Contact, get on base, no strikeouts. It was fun."

Parise played shortstop, according to the newspaper, and hit cleanup, one spot behind rapper Fat Joe.

According to Fox Sports North, former Twins Jack Morris and Jim Thome joined former MLB players Rollie Fingers, Dwight Gooden, Rickey Henderson, Fred Lynn, Mike Piazza, Ozzie Smith and John Smoltz on the field.

"To participate in this, you see the lineup, it's pretty cool," Parise told Fox. "When I was going in the locker room and just seeing the other guys -- you're so used to being around hockey players -- and seeing these other legends from the different sports.

"I'm still a fan of all these guys, so it's really cool."

The game included actors Rob Riggle and January Jones, NFL players Larry Fitzgerald and Adrian Peterson, and rapper Nelly, who won MVP.

The MLB All-Star Game is Tuesday at Target Field in Minneapolis, home of the Twins.
