Lightning sign F Brenden Morrow to 1-year contract

TAMPA, Fla. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed free agent forward Brenden Morrow to a one-year contract.

The team announced the news on Friday.

Morrow had 13 goals and 25 points in 71 games with St. Louis last season. In 921 NHL games with the Blues, Dallas and Pittsburgh, the 35-year old has 262 goals and 567 points.

Tampa Bay also signed forward Philippe Paradis to a one-year, two-way contract. He played last season with Syracuse of the American Hockey League.

Quote of the Day

He's only 17 but he can see the ice so well and he moves the puck and goes to the open ice all the time, so I just think he's a player that is ready to play in the NHL. I'm really looking forward to coaching someone like this.
