Ducks sign defensemen Clark, Blacker
The Anaheim Ducks have signed defensemen Mat Clark and Jesse Blacker to one-year contracts.

Defensemen Mat Clark and Jesse Blacker each signed a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Clark, 23, is scoreless in two games with Anaheim. He has 40 points (four goals, 36 assists) and 316 penalty minutes in 237 American Hockey League games with Norfolk, Syracuse and Manitoba. He set career highs with Syracuse in goals (two), assists (14), points (16), games (80) and penalty minutes (128) in 2010-11. The 6-foot-4, 213-pound defenseman has two points (goal, assist) and 13 penalty minutes in 10 Calder Cup Playoff games.

Blacker, 23, has 53 points (11 goals, 42 assists) and 129 penalty minutes in 180 AHL games with Norfolk and the Toronto Marlies, and three points (one goal, two assists) and 14 penalty minutes in 20 Calder Cup Playoff games. Chosen by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round (No. 58) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Blacker was acquired by the Ducks with second- and seventh-round selections in the 2014 draft for forwards Peter Holland and Brad Staubitz.
