Stars sign goalie Rynnas to two-year contract
The Dallas Stars signed Finnish goaltender Jussi Rynnas to a two-year contract, the team announced Monday.

The Dallas Stars signed goaltender Jussi Rynnas to a two-year contract, the team announced Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Rynnas, 27, went 28-5-7 in 40 regular-season games with Karpat of the Finnish Elite League (Liiga) last season. He led all Liiga goaltenders with a 1.51 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage, finished second in the league with nine shutouts and third with 28 wins. He appeared in three postseason games with Karpat, going 0-3 with a 2.57 GAA and .881 save percentage.

The 6-foot-5, 212-pound native of Pori, Finland, has played three regular-season games for the Toronto Maple Leafs, going 0-1-0 with a 3.85 GAA and .848 save percentage. Rynnas also spent three seasons with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League from 2010-13. He went 31-33-5 with a 2.64 GAA and .910 save percentage with eight shutouts in 73 regular-season games.
