The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed restricted free agent defenseman David Savard to a two-year contract, the team announced Saturday.

The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed restricted free agent defenseman David Savard to a two-year contract, the team announced Saturday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the contract reportedly is worth $2.6 million, according to multiple sources.

Savard, 23, was drafted by Columbus in the fourth round (No. 94) of the 2009 NHL Draft. In 70 games last season, the Quebec native scored five goals and 15 points with 28 penalty minutes. Savard had no goals and four assists in six Stanley Cup Playoff games.

In 105 NHL games, he has seven goals and 26 points.
