Flyers re-sign forward Chris VandeVelde
The Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday re-signed forward Chris VandeVelde to a one-year, two-way contract

The Philadelphia Flyers on Friday re-signed forward Chris VandeVelde to a one-year, two-way contract. No financial terms were disclosed.

VandeVelde, 27, had one assist and six penalty minutes in 18 games with the Flyers. He scored 10 goals and had 24 points in 41 games with the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.

He came to the Flyers organization after spending three seasons playing for the Edmonton Oilers organization, splitting his time between Edmonton and their AHL affiliate in Oklahoma City. VandeVelde had one goal, three points and 18 penalty minutes in 28 games during three stints with the Oilers, who selected him in the fourth round (No. 97) of the 2005 NHL Draft.
