Wilson's agent told the network website the injury is not season-threatening and that more information will be available in the coming days.
Wilson was in Ontario and is being evaluated by doctors in Toronto, Monumental Network reported. Capitals medical staff has been in contact with the doctors, the report said.
Wilson, 20, had three goals, seven assists and 151 penalty minutes playing 82 games in his rookie season. He was the No. 16 pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.
